Strategies, Advocacy, and Practices to Prevent Sex- and Gender-Based Discrimination
This research-based, practitioner-informed course is focused on institution-wide compliance efforts, including prevention education and programming, leveraging partnerships, and program assessment.
Title IX work often focuses on response, but effective prevention means fewer incidents. It is essential to understand what prevention entails, how it operates, and how it can be optimized to reduce misconduct. ATIXA’s experienced faculty members will guide participants through multiple applied learning exercises related to prevention program planning and evaluation. Additionally, they will address common concerns that emerge in response to disclosures and incidents, known as Secondary Prevention.
Lastly, faculty will present best practices for holistic program assessment, including strategies for implementation and leveraging the assessment data to advocate for policy changes and innovative prevention initiatives.
