Sharon M. Wasco, Ph.D. is an independent consultant with over thirty years of applied research on policies, practices, and programs designed to improve the community response to rape. She is a practicing community psychologist and Fellow of Division 27 of the American Psychological Association. As a survivor of campus-based sexual assault and a former rape victim advocate, Dr. Wasco works to foster safety, recovery, and connection at both individual and community levels. Committed to collaboration and capacity-building, Dr. Wasco has served as evaluation expert to multiple state-level partnerships working to prevent sexual and domestic violence in Ohio, Illinois, Michigan, Texas, Florida, California, Pennsylvania and Idaho. In recent years, Dr. Wasco has led evaluations of policy and social change initiatives at the National Sexual Violence Resource Center and the U.S. Center for SafeSport.
