Elizabeth Mendoza Browne currently serves as Deputy Chief Title IX Officer for Chicago Public Schools. Elizabeth brought her expertise in forensic interviewing, child abuse and the impact of trauma in children to the District. For over 15 years, Elizabeth worked collaboratively with law enforcement, child protective services and prosecutors to investigate and respond to victims of child sexual abuse and other forms of violence and harm. Before leaving the Chicago Children’s Advocacy Center in 2017, Elizabeth created the center’s first program to identify and respond to the commercial exploitation of children, among other initiatives. In 2021, Elizabeth joined CPS’ Office of Students Protections & Title IX as Director of OSP Investigations, and in 2022, Elizabeth accepted the position of CPS’ Deputy Chief Title IX Officer to continue her path of improving systems that respond to children impacted by harm and creating a safe learning environment for all students. Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from DePaul University.
