Amaris Livingston-Muñiz

Amaris Livingston-Muñiz is a Junior at Spelman College where she is a Pre-Medicine, Health Science major. Amaris holds an Associate of Science degree. Amaris is a graduate of the Health Science Collegiate Academy, BEST Academy, as well as the Morehouse School of Medicine’s Summer Bridge Pipeline program in the Medical Cannabis Therapeutics concentration. Amaris participated in the STEM LAUNCH Germany program through Spelman College. 

Amaris is a member of the Minority Association of Pre-Medicine Students (MAPS), Girls Gone Global and the Health Careers Club at Spelman College. 

Amaris’ passion is addressing racial disparities within medicine with a goal to open a holistic maternal health clinic to address the maternal death rates within Black and Brown communities. Amaris has always had a passion for eradicating health disparities and became particularly interested in maternal mortality rates when learning that in the United States, Black women are three times more likely to experience a pregnancy related death compared to white women.
