Client Need and Issue:
A private college faced challenges with its Title IX program and needed targeted training to comply with regulations. The institution approached TNG with a limited request to evaluate and improve its Title IX compliance and educational programs. The Assistant Vice President for Institutional Equity reached out to TNG for a Title IX Program Assessment followed by training aimed at enhancing its protocols. The college was unaware of the full spectrum of services TNG offers. This contributed to cautious engagement with previous service providers, which, in turn, required a delicate approach to building trust and understanding the comprehensive capabilities of TNG.
TNG Approach and Solution:
TNG’s initial engagement started with the Assistant Vice President for Institutional Equity. Over time, the cultivation of professional relationships led to a more significant collaboration. The early stages were met with intensive efforts to form a collaborative partnership rooted in transparency and reliability.
TNG built trust, recognized the college’s evolving needs, and suggested a retainer-based arrangement. TNG streamlined the college’s engagement with its services and signified a commitment to a long-term partnership. This shift consolidated TNG’s offerings into a cohesive solution for the institution, encompassing policy and procedure drafting, comprehensive training programs, nuanced case-specific analysis, investigative work, BIT-related consultation, disability-related consultation, regular briefings to the Board’s Risk Management Subcommittee, engagement with the college’s crisis communications team, and decisive action in compliance-related matters.
Outcome:
Driven by a relationship with the initial stakeholder, the journey with the college soon turned into a full-fledged advisory engagement and long-term relationship of mutual trust and collaboration.
