All registrations for 2020 trainings include access to regularly updated electronic training materials, including the full deck of training slides, a 200-page materials packet, and our Investigation in a Box Kit — a 230-page compilation of key guidance, regulations, and resource materials, timelines, flowcharts, and other supplemental resources that your team needs to complete a thorough, reliable and impartial investigation of potential discrimination.

Attendee contact information is not required at time of registration; ATIXA will reach out 7-10 days prior to the training to collect each attendee’s name, professional title, institutional affiliation, email address, and phone number. Access to materials is delivered via email to each attendee 5 days prior to the training.

CERTIFICATION

To obtain Certification from ATIXA, you will need to attend the whole event. It is our expectation that you are present for the entire duration of your training course.

Please allow 14 business days following the completion of the course and then log-into or create an account with our Continuing Certification Credit (CCC) program system. Please follow the instructions on the webpage to obtain your certification. Our CCC program allows those certified by ATIXA to track, maintain, and extend their professional development through our programs. Learn more about our program here.

Digital Badging

ATIXA has partnered with Accredible to add digital badging to its ability to recognize and honor the 12,500 professionals who have sought certification training since 2012.

Digital badges are an increasingly popular tool for employees to denote their achievements, illustrate skill accumulation, and convey professional competence and excellence. A digital badge is an indicator of accomplishment or skill that can be displayed, accessed, and verified online. The badge includes information on who earned the badge, what the badge represents, how it was earned, when it was earned, and who issued it. Digital credentials allow employees to present a rich and trustworthy record of their professional development, easily shared on social platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, as well as inclusion in email signatures.

Attendees of any Certification Course will now be able to expand their current options for verifying certification in a more public, visual, digital, and social, displaying badges for each certification so that colleagues, students, and potential employers can recognize your training and professional development. Attendees will receive notification following completion of the training on how to access their badge.

TRIAL MEMBERSHIPS

All registrations for 2020 trainings include complimentary one-month Individual Trial Memberships for attendees who have no previous membership history with ATIXA. Active trial members have access to the full benefits of the corresponding membership level. ATIXA’s policies provide additional guidance regarding complimentary trial memberships.

FACULTY

Joe Vincent, M.L.S. is an Associate Consultant with TNG. He works with colleges and universities to ensure compliant and well-developed sexual misconduct policies and procedures and serves as an external trainer for investigators, Title IX Coordinators, and administrators with civil rights compliance responsibilities. Joe advises on internal misconduct investigations and has served as an external support provider for nondiscrimination matters to human resources, student affairs, General Counsel, and President’s offices. Joe frequently contributes to model policies, position statements, draft legislation, and best practices guidance.

Prior to joining TNG, Joe worked as a Title IX Coordinator and human resources director specializing in policy development, employment compliance training, grievance resolution processes, and advising on supervisory leadership for A.T. Still University of Health Sciences, a graduate and professional university with two medical schools, two dental schools, and several traditional and online healthcare professions programs. Originally from St. Louis, MO, Joe has experience in government, politics, and communications. He received his Master of Legal Studies from West Virginia University and his Bachelor of Science in Political Science from Truman State University. Joe has advised, written, and presented on civil rights investigations for the higher education human resources industry. He developed material covering the pitfalls of power-imbalanced relationships that is currently used to train healthcare college faculty at several U.S. medical schools.

Time

Training is from 9:00AM to 5:00PM each day. Registration will begin at 8:30AM. One hour will be provided for lunch. Two short breaks will be taken throughout the day.

Breakfast, Lunch & Snack Breaks

Your host will provide a light continental breakfast and afternoon snack break each day. Lunch each day will be on your own.

Attire

Attire is business casual with an emphasis on casual. Room temperatures may vary; layers are encouraged.

Technical Assistance

Internet access will be available upon arrival to facility. Attendees will have access to the WiFi network and a password will be required and provided at the registration table. If you wish to use a laptop to take notes, please have your computer fully charged and consider bringing a back-up battery, as there are not enough outlets in the room for individual use. Staff on-site will not be available to provide any electrical cords or technological assistance.
