All registrations for 2019 trainings include access to regularly updated electronic training materials, including the full deck of training slides and supplemental materials.
Attendee contact information is not required at time of registration; ATIXA will reach out 7-10 days prior to the training to collect each attendee’s name, professional title, institutional affiliation, email address, and phone number. Access to materials is delivered via email to each attendee 5 days prior to the training.
To obtain a PreK-12 Title IX Administrator Certification, you will need to attend the whole event. What does this certificate mean? It means that you have tapped into the unparalleled expertise of ATIXA and the other carefully selected experts in the field.
Please allow 14 business days following the completion of the course and then log-into or create an account with our Continuing Certification Credit (CCC) program system. Please follow the instructions on the webpage to obtain your certification. HR Certification Institute® (HRCI®) has pre-approved this activity for 18 HR (General) recertification credit hours. Human Resources professionals requiring recertification credit hours will receive the activity ID upon completion of the event.
The use of this seal confirms that this activity has met HR Certification Institute’s® (HRCI®) criteria for recertification credit pre-approval.

We are pleased to announce that ATIXA has partnered with Accredible to add digital badging to its ability to recognize and honor the 12,500 professionals who have sought certification training since 2012.
Digital badges are an increasingly popular tool for employees to denote their achievements, illustrate skill accumulation, and convey professional competence and excellence. A digital badge is an indicator of accomplishment or skill that can be displayed, accessed, and verified online. The badge includes information on who earned the badge, what the badge represents, how it was earned, when it was earned, and who issued it. Digital credentials allow employees to present a rich and trustworthy record of their professional development, easily shared on social platforms like LinkedIn, Twitter, and Facebook, as well as inclusion in email signatures.
Attendees of any Certification Course will now be able to expand their current options for verifying certification in a more public, visual, digital, and social, displaying badges for each certification so that colleagues, students, and potential employers can recognize your training and professional development. Attendees will receive notification following completion of the training on how to access their badge.
PLEASE NOTE: Certification refers to attendance at a qualifying event; TNG cannot speak to individual attendees’ knowledge, expertise, or command of the material.
All registrations for 2019 trainings include complimentary three-month PreK12 Trial Memberships for attendees who have no previous membership history with ATIXA. Active trial members have access to the full benefits of the corresponding membership level. ATIXA’s policies provide additional guidance regarding complimentary trial memberships.
Tanyka M. Barber J.D., has over 10 years of experience in civil rights/equal employment opportunity law. Tanyka’s key areas of competency include employment discrimination, Title IX, diversity and inclusion, investigations, policy and program development, training, and compliance.
Prior to joining TNG, Tanyka served as the Director of Diversity and EEO and the Title IX Coordinator at Morgan State University, a historically Black college and university, in Baltimore, Maryland. Tanyka directed and provided guidance relative to the University’s antidiscrimination, Title IX, and diversity initiatives for approximately 7,800 students and 1,200 employees. Tanyka also conducted and oversaw the University’s discrimination investigations involving faculty, staff, and students, drafted investigation reports and position statements, and worked with University administrators to implement recommendations for action. In addition, Tanyka led the University’s Title IX efforts and was responsible for drafting policies and procedures, developing the University’s Title IX grievance process, prevention, training, and outreach initiatives.
Previously, Tanyka spent four years in a similar position as the EEO Officer at Baltimore County Public Schools where she managed the EEO functions for a K-12 school system of approximately 17,000 employees. In this capacity, Tanyka investigated and responded to employment discrimination complaints filed internally and with external state and federal agencies; evaluated employee requests for reasonable accommodations; drafted policies and procedures; and conducted trainings.
Kim Pacelli, M.Ed., J.D. is an Associate with TNG who is quite familiar with the day-to-day challenges facing colleges, universities, and schools. She provides practical advice that empowers institutions to confidently manage high-risk issues on their campuses. Her practice includes policy and procedure development and consultation, program review, assessment, and compliance consultations; and tailored on-site training programs, among others.
She regularly trains and advises on Title IX policy and procedures, Clery Act reporting and compliance, student mental health interventions and policies, FERPA and student privacy issues, free speech issues for both public and private institutions, and student conduct issues, among others. She has also served as an invited speaker at regional and national conferences.
Training is from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. Registration will begin at 8:00AM. One hour will be provided for lunch. Two short breaks will be taken throughout the day.

Your host will provide a light continental breakfast and afternoon snack break each day. Lunch each day will be on your own.
Attire is business casual with an emphasis on casual. Room temperatures may vary; layers are encouraged.
Internet access will be available upon arrival to facility. Attendees will have access to the WiFi network [Network: Westport-Pride / Log-in: westportcs]and a password [westportcs] will be required. If you wish to use a laptop to take notes, please have your computer fully charged and consider bringing a back-up battery, as there are not enough outlets in the room for individual use. Staff on-site will not be available to provide any electrical cords or technological assistance.
