Amy Murphy, Ph.D.
Amy Murphy, Ph.D. is an Assistant Professor at Angelo State University teaching graduate courses in student development and leadership in higher education. She is formerly the Dean of Students at Texas Tech University as well as the Deputy Title IX Coordinator for Students. In this role, she oversaw prevention and response activities for gender-based violence and discrimination as well as investigations of discriminatory harassment complaints involving students, faculty, and staff. She coordinated the University’s Behavioral Intervention Team for more than 15 years and regularly trains practitioners on behavioral intervention and student crisis. Her experiences also involve administrative oversight to more than 450 student organizations, including 50 fraternities and sororities.
Dr. Murphy is a Contributing Editor for Title IX Today and Editorial Board Member for the Journal of Campus Title IX Compliance and Best Practices. She recently co-authored the book, Uprooting Sexual Violence in Higher Education: A Guide for Practitioners and Faculty.
