To obtain a Civil Rights Investigator Certification, you will need to attend the whole event. What does this certificate mean? It means that you have tapped into the unparalleled expertise of ATIXA and the other carefully selected experts in the field.

Once the course is completed, you will receive your certification from ATIXA. Certificates for this training event will be provided to you electronically via our Continuing Certification Credit (CCC) program system. A member of our team will be in contact with you via email with instructions on accepting your certification credits in the 7-10 business days following the completion of this course. W. Scott Lewis, J.D. is a partner with The NCHERM Group.  He serves as the 2015-2016 president of SACCA (the Student Affairs Community College Association – and is also co-founder and advisory board member of ATIXA (the Association for Title IX Administrators –, NaBITA (the National Behavioral Intervention Team Association – and SCOPE (School and College Organization for Prevention Education – Previously, he served as Special Advisor to Saint Mary’s College in South Bend, IN, as Associate Vice Provost at the University of South Carolina, and worked in Student Conduct and Residence Life at Texas A&M University. He also serves as faculty, teaching courses in Education, Law, Political Science, and Business. He has worked with the Department of Justice’s Office of Violence Against Women as a trainer and consultant, and was a consultant to the Office of the Vice President and the White House Task Force on issues of sexual misconduct and Title IX. Additionally, he works with athletes, coaches and administrators in athletics, working with Divisions I, II, III, NAIA and NJCAA athletics departments and athletes, as well as with the USOC and NCAA in the areas of sexual misconduct and gender equity in sport. Scott brings over twenty years of experience as a student affairs administrator, faculty member, and consultant in higher education.

For guests staying at the Indiana Memorial Union, Biddle Hotel (more information below) free parking is available in two lots adjacent to the IMU. Persons who do not stay at the hotel may also park in these lots, but there will be a charge for doing so. Discounted parking passes will be available at the registration check-in desk. The approximate cost of discounted parking is $10.00/ day.

Indianapolis International Airport (IND) is approximately 50 miles (one hour) away from Bloomington and area hotels.

Breakfast, Lunch & Snack Breaks
Our host campus will provide a light continental breakfast and afternoon snack break each day. Lunch each day will be on your own.

Attire is business casual with an emphasis on casual.  Room temperatures may vary; layers are encouraged.

Wireless internet will be available to all attendees.

If wish to use a laptop to take notes, please have your computer fully charged and consider bringing a back-up battery, as there are not enough outlets in the room for individual use. Staff on site will not be available to provide any electrical cords or technological assistance.

We encourage you to make your reservations early as accommodations at the IMU may be limited. The ATIXA Conference block of hotel rooms will be released to the general public on August 31, 2015.

Hotel room rates vary based on type of room (single, double) and days of stay (Sunday – Thursday or Friday & Saturday check-in). The following are representative hotel room rates, and are permitted to change:

  • Single, weekday room w/one double bed: $105.00
  • Single, weekday room w/one king bed: $160.00
  • Double, weekday room w/2 double beds: $150.00
  • Double, weekday room w/2 queen beds: $160.00

Weekend rates are approximately $20.00 – $30.00 per day additional charge. All rooms are subject to 12% tax
