Jackie Gharapour Wernz is the Acting Director of Civil Rights and Investigations for the University of Idaho and owner of ECR Solutions LLC, a legal consulting firm focused on helping schools, colleges, and universities get civil rights right, the first time. Jackie is a former civil rights attorney for the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights (OCR) and was a partner at two of the top education law boutique firms in the country. Jackie attended the University of Virginia School of Law on a Dillard Scholarship, the Law School’s premier full-merit scholarship. She was a member of the editorial board for the Virginia Law Review and graduated in the top quarter of her class. Jackie is a summa cum laude graduate of the Donaghey Scholars honors program at the University of Arkansas Little Rock. She attended college on a full merit scholarship, triple-majored in English Literature, History, and French, and studied abroad in France twice. She lives in Dallas, Texas, with her husband, son, daughter, and vizsla dog.
