Camie is a licensed attorney and mediator, she serves as the Chief Title IX Officer for Chicago Public Schools and leads the Office of Student Protections and Title IX and the Equal Opportunity Compliance Office. At CPS, she works to provide an equitable, inclusive, safe, supportive, and secure learning and working environment, in every school and neighborhood ensuring the District is free from discrimination, harassment, and retaliation.
Prior to joining CPS, Camie spent 10 years as Vice President and Title IX Coordinator at the University of Phoenix, where she worked to eliminate gender-based discrimination, sexual harassment, and sexual violence from all school programs and activities. Camie has also worked as a legal consultant and founded her own mediation firm to work with families in resolving disputes.
As a native of Pennsylvania, Camie attended the Philadelphia public school system and was the first in her family to attend college. Camie earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from the University of Maryland and a Juris Doctor Degree from Quinnipiac University School of Law.
